PYY-A10/A20 is an organic derivative of a bentonite clay with high purity. This highly efficient
rheological additive is designed for low to intermediate to some part of high polarity organic systems.
The proper solvent can be aliphatic hydrocarbon, esters, ketone, and benzene. If using the moderate to
high polarity solvent such as the xylene, xylene-esters (e.g. butyl acetate), or xylene-ketone (e.g.
acetone), the PYY organic bentonite can add as a dry powder for in-situ dispersion and activation
without the addition of activator. If using the low polarity solvent such as 200# solvent or white oil,
the PYY organic bentonite need the help of activator for fully dispersion and activation. The
activator can be 95% alcohol, typical levels range between 30-40% activator based on organic
bentonite weight.The performance of PYY-A10/A20 is similar to claytone 40, claytone HT, txogle
VZ, bentone 38, 34,57,1000.
APPLICATIONS
PYY-A10/A20 organic bentonite used as thickener, anti-settling agent and rheological agent
widely employ in the field of marine paint, primer paint, anti-corrosion paint, asphalt paint, adhesive
glue, seal gum, greases and so on.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
PYY-A10/A20 can be added directly to the resin/solvent blend and is thoroughly mixed in
room temperature, the pigments and fillers are then added and dispersed with high shear or grind. The
chemical activators can be methanol/H2O（95/5）, ethanol/H2O（95/5）, propylene carbonate, or
acetone. The level of activator depends on the system in which organic bentonite is to be used, the
typical levels are between 30 and 50% based on organic bentonite weight. The process can be used as follows:
A, resin blend with solvent
B, add organic bentonite and thoroughly mixed for 10-20 minutes.
C, add chemical actiator and mixed for 10-20minutes
D, the pigments and fillers are then added and dispersed with high shear for a few minutes.
E, Complete dilution
Remark: if used in long oil alkyd resin, propylene carbonate can be the appropriate activator.
LEVELS OF USE
The level depends on the system in which is to be used. The typical levels are between 0.5 and 1.5%
PYY-A10 organic bentonite based on total system weight.

Storage and package:
Leather bags are used for the outer package, and the bag uses the double layer packing of the
polyethylene film, or the paper bag. The weight is usually 25±0.25kg, or according to the user packing
demands. Keep in dry places. When the
temperature is 0~30℃, the quality is valid for 24 months.
